Reality, an RWA protocol in the Bitget ecosystem, has entered into a strategic partnership with Merkl to support rToken dividend distribution in DeFi scenarios.

on November 6, according to official announcements from Bitget, Reality, the tokenized US stock protocol within the Bitget ecosystem, has formed a strategic partnership with Merkl, a DeFi rewards infrastructure platform. Through Merkl's reward forwarding feature, the two parties will identify the actual holders of rTokens deployed across supported DeFi protocols. Users will continue to receive dividends in stablecoin format according to established rules, even when utilizing their rTokens in DeFi scenarios such as lending, liquidity pools, or staking.

Pablo Veyrat, CEO and co-founder of Merkl, noted that a major challenge for DeFi assets lies in identifying the actual beneficial owners behind every position. Merkl's reward forwarding technology can penetrate multiple layers of nested smart contracts to ascertain underlying asset ownership relationships, thereby ensuring that dividends are accurately allocated to qualified holders.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that the value of tokenized equities should not be confined solely to trading. Even when users deploy rTokens into DeFi applications, they should remain entitled to eligible dividends. This partnership with Merkl aims to overcome this hurdle collectively, maximizing the utility of tokenized stocks in everyday financial use cases.

According to data from DeFiLlama, cumulative trading volume for rTokens reached $1.16 billion between June and July 2026. In July 2026, the number of users trading both crypto assets and rTokens concurrently saw a month-over-month increase of 23.54%. This collaboration will further expand the utility of rTokens beyond trading venues into the broader DeFi ecosystem, diversifying the on-chain application scenarios for tokenized stocks.
