PENGUIN TRADING · OUR STORY

From Antarctica,
toward the stars.

A spirit of open inquiry. A belief in shared horizons.
And a small penguin called TuanTuan.

A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER

Value begins with a question.

I created Penguin Trading around a conviction: value is worth understanding before it becomes consensus. In crypto, ideas, capital and communities move across borders. Research should be open to those possibilities, and willing to question the stories that surround them.

Our purpose is to help people look beyond attention and price alone: to understand what a project does, how value moves through it, and what the evidence can actually support. We want to make room for independent judgment, including the freedom to change our minds.

That is the promise behind our name and our words: Find value beyond consensus.

WHY OLDLINING.COM

Old Lining: An inner layer to help traders weather the winter.

Penguin Trading’s domain, oldlining.com, comes from an image of penguins, winter and survival.

In Antarctica, penguins need dependable protection to withstand the long, bitter cold. Their outer feathers keep out wind, snow and seawater, while the soft down beneath helps retain warmth. We are especially drawn to that quiet layer of protection closest to the body—like the lining inside a garment. It rarely draws attention in everyday life, yet becomes especially important when the cold arrives.

Old Lining is the name we have given to this image of an inner layer.

Lining means the inside layer of a garment. To us, it represents support that stays close to the person using it and becomes part of daily life. Old reflects our respect for time and experience: judgment that remains useful through market cycles, and tools that earn trust through repeated use.

Crypto markets have winters of their own. Enthusiasm fades, liquidity contracts and prices swing sharply. Narratives that once felt exciting can quickly lose their relevance. Traders need to see what is happening clearly, while preserving the capital, judgment and freedom to act when the next opportunity comes.

We hope Penguin Trading can be that inner layer for traders.

Through real-time market data, project screening and smart money tracking, we bring scattered information together into references that traders can understand, compare and use to assess opportunities and risks more clearly. A tool’s value should show in each practical use: fewer blind spots, a stronger basis for judgment and more room to keep your own pace amid volatility.

The ability to navigate market cycles sits at the heart of our product philosophy. Finding convex opportunities and capturing nonlinear returns takes patience, as well as control over the risks we take. Preserving the ability to stay in the market gives us the chance to be there when an opportunity is worth acting on.

This is the story behind oldlining.com, and the role Penguin Trading hopes to serve over the long term:

To be the inner layer that stays close to you as a trader, helping you weather the winter and keep room for the next opportunity.

01 / OUR ORIGIN

A home beyond ordinary borders.

In our brand story, TuanTuan comes from Antarctica. The continent inspires us through its tradition of scientific inquiry and cooperation across national interests. The Antarctic Treaty supports peaceful use and scientific freedom while preserving, rather than resolving, the different positions on territorial claims.

For Penguin Trading, this is an image of freedom with shared responsibilities: the ability to explore, exchange knowledge and work together even when interests differ. It reflects what draws us to open crypto networks and to communities that build trust through participation and verifiable rules.

02 / OUR HORIZON

A penguin on the ice.
A gaze toward the stars.

The penguin and the stars are our declaration of intent. The penguin keeps us grounded: curious, observant and ready to learn. The stars point toward a future larger than any single market, border or generation.

I see Antarctica’s experience of negotiation and cooperation as an inspiration for how humanity might one day live and work farther into space. The Outer Space Treaty already expresses principles of exploration for the benefit of all countries and non-appropriation by nations. How people turn those principles into lasting cooperation remains an open challenge.

Our hope is that the same habits will matter in both frontiers: open inquiry, shared rules and the ability to cooperate without surrendering independent thought. Crypto is one place to explore those questions today; the stars remind us to keep a longer horizon.

03 / OUR COMPANION

Meet TuanTuan.

We call our penguin TuanTuan, or 团团. The repeated sound keeps the warmth of the Chinese name, with its sense of roundness and togetherness. TuanTuan is a friendly, gender-neutral companion: blue scarf, round glasses, a research notebook and a welcoming wave.

TuanTuan brings a little warmth to serious work. The notebook is a reminder to examine the evidence. The wave welcomes people with different perspectives. The stars invite us to keep asking what comes next.
