The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency encourages community banks to apply to become stablecoin issuers

According to The Block, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is encouraging community banks in the United States to consider applying to become authorized stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act to expand their role in digital payments.
