Solana Co-founder: Should Not Pause AI Until Increased Crop Yields Benefit the World's Poorest
On Nov. 1, according to a post by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, AI should not be paused until doubling crop yields can bring marginal benefits to the poorest one billion people.
Yakovenko cited researcher Dankrad Feist's views on pausing the training of frontier AI models. Feist argued that continuing to advance frontier models would significantly increase risks, advocating for a temporary slowdown to give society time to adapt.
