MetaDAO Launches Consumer App Funding Initiative, First Project Aims to Raise $100,000

on November 5, MetaDAO announced the launch of the MetaDAO Apps Program, a funding initiative for consumer app founders. Compared to its regular fundraising activities, apps in this program have smaller funding goals and allocate a lower proportion of the token supply to backers.

Founders can start selling their earned tokens earlier provided they meet performance milestones and adhere to sales restrictions. The first project is 1609SAT, an SAT prep app seeking to raise $100,000, with MetaDAO committing $50,000. MetaDAO noted that the app has amassed over 400 paying students in its first three months, generating roughly $5,000 in monthly revenue.
