Aave Freezes V3 and V4 Markets Due to Unusual Activity in Binance-Related Wallets

According to TechFlow, on October 30, the official Aave team announced in a statement that it has received reports concerning potential incidents involving Binance-related wallets. Aave contracts remain unaffected, and positions are still overcollateralized; as a precautionary measure, all DAO-operated markets on V3 and V4 have been frozen.

This freeze will halt new deposits and borrowing, while users retain the ability to withdraw funds and repay existing positions.

TechFlow previously reported that Binance reportedly suffered large-scale abnormal outflows, with on-chain analytics indicating the involvement of billions of dollars, and certain stablecoins have already been frozen by their issuers; CZ stated that actual losses may slightly exceed $1 billion and will be fully covered. This action by Aave is a preventive risk control measure and does not equate to an attack on the protocol itself. Please be aware of related risks, and TechFlow will continue to monitor the situation.
