He Yi: Binance has identified and intercepted 57 suspected North Korea-linked cyberattacks since 2026
Binance co-founder He Yi stated that since 2026, Binance's security team has identified and successfully intercepted 57 suspected cyberattack incidents linked to North Korea. These attacks reflect the ongoing threat of state-backed hacker groups targeting the cryptocurrency industry.
The attack methods involved include fake recruitment interviews, malware disguised as popular development tools, compromised software packages and browser extensions, fake video conferencing applications, and social engineering attacks designed to steal account credentials or deploy remote access malware. He Yi stated that Binance intercepted many of these attacks, but even a single failure to intercept would carry extremely serious consequences, and "this kind of thing should not happen."
