Reserve: All 3.38 billion stolen RSR tokens from Binance have been sold; the Reserve protocol and contracts remain unaffected.
on October 30, Reserve officially stated that the 3.38 billion RSR tokens involved in the Binance hot wallet theft have been sold by the attacker, and the Reserve protocol contract remains unaffected, meaning RSR holders do not need to take any action. On-chain data shows that between 8:53 PM and 9:08 PM ET on October 29, the attacker swapped all RSR for 1,856 ETH via Uniswap V3, valued at approximately $4.1 million.
Reserve noted that it had previously withdrawn on-chain liquidity provided by its treasury to prevent the attacker from exploiting it for exits, with the involved RSR seemingly purchased by arbitrage bots and other traders. As RSR is non-upgradeable and has no admin key, no one can freeze the tokens. The attacker currently no longer holds RSR, and Reserve has not identified any risk of mass attacks on DTF governance, with all products operating normally.
Additionally, based on Binance's statement confirming that losses will be fully covered by its SAFU fund and corporate funds, Reserve believes Binance intends to repurchase all assets lost in this incident, including the 3.38 billion RSR, though it has not yet received details on the specific compensation plan.
