Incoming Texas Governor Requests Pause on SpaceX Land Sale Negotiations

on November 6, according to Investor’s Business Daily, Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa stated that she has directed state government officials to pause negotiations with SpaceX over a potential land sale during the transition period.

The report indicates that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department previously discussed with SpaceX the transfer of control over approximately 1,300 acres of public land in Cameron County and near Boca Chica State Park; SpaceX reportedly intends to use these lands to expand its Starbase facilities.

Additionally, GLJ Research noted that Democratic wins in Congress and major statewide races in Texas will make the potential merger between SpaceX and Tesla slower, more costly, and less likely.
