VanEck Head of Research: Heard That Citi's Bitcoin Custody Service Was Originally Scheduled to Launch Last Week
According to TechFlow, on November 3, Matthew Sigel, head of digital asset research at VanEck, posted that he learned Citi’s institutional Bitcoin custody service was originally scheduled to launch last week, and speculated that last week’s hack on Binance may have been one of the reasons Citi has not yet announced a specific timeline.
Sigel stated that Citi previously announced its Custody+ platform would begin providing Bitcoin custody for institutional clients this year. He also noted that Citi Wealth published an introductory report on crypto ETFs, outlining how eligible clients can allocate spot BTC and ETH ETFs through regulated brokerage accounts.
