JPMorgan Research Analysis: iPhone Duo Lead Time Hits 94 Days, Pro Series Demand Remains Resilient

By: Rita

The global average delivery cycle for the iPhone Duo is 94 days, approximately three months. The iPhone 18 Pro averages 7 days, and the Pro Max averages 21 days, remaining unchanged compared to the same period last year. J.P. Morgan believes that the extended Duo delivery cycle reflects strong demand, and the Pro series continues to show resilient demand after price increases, maintaining an Overweight rating on Apple.

In its Apple product supply tracking report released on October 25, 2026, J.P. Morgan noted this is the 7th week of tracking data. The Duo remains unavailable for store pickup across all tracked regions, with the delivery cycle showing limited change since last week's initial figures. The Pro series delivery cycle continues to normalize, averaging 7 days globally for the 18 Pro and 21 days for the Pro Max. J.P. Morgan expects the Duo delivery timeline to remain largely unchanged until supply improves, while demand for the Pro series remains relatively resilient compared to last year.

The US accounts for approximately 34% of iPhone shipments, China about 19%, Germany roughly 3%, and the UK around 4%. Changes in delivery cycles across these four markets essentially reflect the global supply and demand landscape.

Duo Delivery Cycle Approximately Three Months

The global average delivery cycle for the Duo is 94 days, approximately three months. In the four tracked markets—the US, China, Germany, and the UK—Duo delivery cycles are all 94 days, flat from last week. The Duo is unavailable for store pickup in all markets.

J.P. Morgan pointed out that the Duo delivery cycle has continued to extend since launch, with no significant adjustment currently. Constrained supply is the primary cause, underpinned by strong demand. Delivery expectations for the Duo will not change significantly before supply improves. The proportion of Duo in total iPhone shipments has not been disclosed, but J.P. Morgan believes that once supply constraints ease, the Duo will make a notable contribution to revenue.

The extended Duo delivery cycle reflects consumer interest in its new design and form factor. J.P. Morgan views this as a positive signal, indicating that Apple can drive upgrade demand through design innovation. While the supply bottleneck temporarily limits sales volume, the demand signal has not weakened.

Pro Series Delivery Cycle Has Normalized

The Pro series delivery cycle has returned to levels seen during the same period last year. The global average delivery cycle for the iPhone 18 Pro is 7 days, and the Pro Max averages 21 days. Last week, they were 12 days and 22 days, respectively. The Pro saw a week-over-week decrease of 5 days, and the Pro Max dropped by 1 day. During the same period last year, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max averaged 7 days and 21 days, respectively. The Pro series delivery cycle is now flat with the same period last year.

In the US market, the 18 Pro delivery cycle is 8 days, and the Pro Max is 21 days. Last week, they stood at 14 days and 21 days, respectively. During the same period last year, the 17 Pro and Pro Max were 8 days and 21 days, respectively. The Pro decreased by 6 days week-over-week, similar to the 6-day drop observed during the same period last year. The Pro Max remained unchanged for both weeks.

In China, the 18 Pro delivery cycle is 1 day, and the Pro Max is 22 days. Last week, they were 6 days and 22 days, respectively. During the same period last year, the 17 Pro and Pro Max were 2 days and 19 days, respectively. Currently, the Pro is 1 day lower than last year, while the Pro Max is 3 days higher. With the average Pro delivery cycle down to 1 day and select configurations available within 3 hours, this indicates ample Pro supply. The Pro Max delivery cycle remains stable at 22 days.

In Germany, the 18 Pro delivery cycle is 9 days, and the Pro Max is 22 days. Last week, they were 14 days and 22 days, respectively. During the same period last year, the 17 Pro and Pro Max were 11 days and 23 days, respectively. The Pro is 2 days lower than last year, and the Pro Max is 1 day lower. In the UK market, the 18 Pro delivery cycle is 8 days, and the Pro Max is 19 days. Last week, they were 14 days and 21 days, respectively. During the same period last year, the 17 Pro and Pro Max were 8 days and 21 days, respectively. The Pro is flat compared to last year, while the Pro Max is 2 days lower.

Resilient Demand After Price Hikes

Unlike the supply bottleneck affecting the Duo, supply for the Pro series has already normalized. Following price increases, the Pro series delivery cycle remains flat with the same period last year. J.P. Morgan believes this demonstrates that demand remains resilient relative to last year. The price hikes have not significantly dampened demand for the Pro series, and the delivery cycle has returned to last year's levels following supply normalization.

In China, the Pro delivery cycle has dropped to 1 day, with select configurations deliverable within 3 hours. J.P. Morgan noted that Pro supply is ample, with demand not exceeding availability. The Pro Max delivery cycle is stable at 22 days, slightly above last year's level but still within normal range. The divergence in delivery cycles between the Pro and Pro Max reflects consumer preference for larger screens and higher specifications.

With the Duo delivery cycle extended and the Pro series normalized, J.P. Morgan considers the Duo demand signal positive, and the resilience of Pro series demand supports Apple's revenue. Revenue contributions will materialize once Duo supply eases. Stable demand for the Pro series after price hikes indicates that Apple's pricing power remains intact.

Overweight Rating Maintained

J.P. Morgan maintains an Overweight rating on Apple, with the current stock price at $347.73. J.P. Morgan believes that the extended Duo delivery cycle and resilient Pro series demand support Apple's short-term revenue. The Duo supply bottleneck is a temporary issue, and the demand signal has not weakened.

Divergence in delivery cycles across Apple's product lineup reflects varying supply and demand conditions for different models. The Duo faces supply constraints amid strong demand. The Pro series supply has normalized, with steady demand. J.P. Morgan notes that Apple's ability to sustain Pro series demand despite price increases underscores the enduring strength of its brand and product competitiveness.

Whether the Duo delivery cycle will retract after supply improves and whether Pro series demand will persist post-price hike are key areas to watch. J.P. Morgan maintains its Overweight rating, awaiting revenue realization following supply easing.
