Marco Rubio Reported Considering Resignation, US State Department Denies

on Nov. 6, according to Jinshi Data, Bloomberg cited informed sources saying that U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Rubio is discussing his future with advisors and has already spoken with White House officials about his resignation. Some informed sources stated that the White House had asked him to stay in his post.

As of now, Rubio has not decided whether to resign as Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, nor has he set a departure date. The U.S. State Department denied that Rubio is considering resigning, calling the reports false news based on anonymous sources, and affirmed that Rubio will continue serving in the Trump administration.

The report notes that following the Republican Party's loss in the midterm elections, the Trump administration may face personnel adjustments. If Rubio leaves office before Democrats take control of the Senate next January, Trump will have the opportunity to nominate a successor early. An earlier report claimed the U.S. Ambassador to India could replace Rubio as Secretary of State, but the ambassador denied the claim.
