Thailand SEC Solicits Comments on Draft Licensing Rules for Digital Asset Derivatives

on November 3, according to an announcement by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC), the commission solicited public comments on October 29 regarding eight draft rules for derivative business operations to facilitate the inclusion of digital assets as eligible underlying assets under the Derivatives Act.

The proposals outline the licensing framework for derivative exchanges, clearinghouses, and intermediary businesses, aiming to allow digital asset operators to apply for derivative business licenses without establishing a new corporate entity, while revising financial reporting standards for exchanges and clearinghouses. The deadline for public consultation is November 28.
