Société Générale accepts $10 million in tokenized US Treasuries as collateral on the Canton Network.

on November 4, according to a press release forwarded by The Asian Banker, Societe Generale’s Prime Services & Clearing division announced on November 2 that it has accepted $10 million in tokenized US Treasuries as eligible collateral on the Canton Network. These assets were issued during the soft launch phase of DTCC’s tokenization services. The transaction demonstrates that tokenized US Treasuries can be transferred on-chain and reflected in Societe Generale’s existing back-office and collateral systems, while complying with its governance, risk, and control framework.

Societe Generale completed its first US tokenized bond issuance on Canton in November 2025 and announced its designation as a Super Validator on the network in May 2026. Its digital asset subsidiary SG-FORGE had previously deployed MiCA-compliant euro and US dollar stablecoins on Canton. Societe Generale plans to gradually support routine collateral flows, evaluate more eligible tokenized securities, and explore on-chain agency and principal repurchase agreement (repo) financing solutions. These initiatives remain subject to internal approvals and regulatory requirements.
