Trump: If Democrats Retake Congress, Will Consider Preemptive Pardons for Musk and His Associates

Odaily: U.S. President Trump stated that if Democrats regain control of Congress after the midterm elections, he is willing to offer preemptive pardons to Musk and his associates to protect them from congressional investigations.

In an interview, Trump dismissed claims that Democrats might push to nationalize Musk's SpaceX, but said he would protect the billionaire entrepreneur and any aides targeted by congressional investigators, including Edward Coristine, who was involved in cutting government programs at Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Trump confirmed that such protective measures could include granting pardons in advance if necessary. Former U.S. President Biden previously granted preemptive pardons to his son Hunter Biden and several government officials who might face retaliation from Trump's second administration. Trump cited this as justification for his commitment to protecting his associates. Trump said: "That's what Biden did. He pardoned everybody." He also mentioned Biden's pardons for individuals who assisted in investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. (Bloomberg)
