Coinbase denied its data breach, stating it was an Amplitude security incident
On October 28, Coinbase responded to market news related to a data breach, stating that the company itself did not experience a data breach. Instead, it was a third-party analytics service provider, Amplitude, that encountered a security incident, affecting the contact information of some Coinbase customers and data from other Amplitude clients.
Coinbase stated that there is currently no evidence of unauthorized access to its internal systems, and customer funds have not been affected. The company will notify affected customers and relevant regulatory authorities as required by law.
