Nasdaq 100 components diverge in performance: Mounting AI regulation concerns weigh on memory chip and AI infrastructure-related stocks.

on Nov 5, according to Bitget data, during US intraday trading, Nasdaq 100 components showed mixed performance. Following the US midterm elections, with Democrats securing control of both the Senate and House, markets are concerned that future AI regulation may intensify and that data center construction and expansion could face stricter limitations, leading to selling pressure on stocks related to memory chips, AI cloud computing, and high-speed interconnect semiconductors; meanwhile, digital advertising and select retail stocks bucked the trend and rose.

On the upside, AppLovin (APP.O) surged 31.51% by providing mobile app advertising technology, ad monetization, and marketing automation solutions; Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY.O) gained 3.23%, primarily focused on the research and development of RNA interference (RNAi) therapies; Costco (COST.O) advanced 2.97% as a membership-based warehouse retailer; Fastenal (FAST.O) climbed 2.57%, mainly distributing industrial and construction supplies; and Roper Technologies (ROP.O) rose 2.47% by supplying vertical-market software and technology products.

On the downside, SanDisk (SNDK.O) fell 18.98%, primarily offering NAND flash and data storage products; Nebius Group (NBIS.O) dropped 17.41%, mainly providing AI cloud computing infrastructure and GPU compute services; Astera Labs (ALAB.O) declined 17.30%, focusing on high-speed interconnect semiconductor solutions for AI and cloud infrastructure; Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.O) fell 15.20%, primarily supplying CPUs, GPUs, and data center acceleration chips; and Seagate Technology (STX.O) dropped 14.89%, mainly delivering hard disk drives and data storage solutions.
