Report: Iran Reviews Nuclear Issue Proposal, US-Iran Talks Show Progress

According to TechFlow, on November 6, citing data from Jinshidata, The New York Times reported that Iran is reviewing a series of specific proposals on nuclear issues put forward by mediators, marking progress in Qatar-led diplomatic mediation between the US and Iran. Over the past week, Qatar has held two rounds of talks in Tehran, hosted a third round in Doha, and engaged with Iranian officials in Armenia; US Vice President Vance is also advancing the negotiations, with both sides reviewing the latest proposals to bridge their differences.

Citing knowledgeable sources, the report states that Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, publicly declared that negotiations on nuclear issues would not take place until the US meets Iran's conditions, though he privately expressed a greater openness to discussing the matter. Iran's key demands include unfreezing assets, lifting oil sanctions, and ending the US maritime blockade on Iranian ports. The main point of contention over the nuclear issue lies in the disposal of high-enriched uranium stockpiles: Trump has demanded that Iran surrender its stockpile, while Iran refuses to ship enriched uranium abroad. Dilution within Iranian territory under the supervision of international inspectors was previously discussed.

The report also stated that US and Israeli militaries have compiled a target list for striking Iran, encompassing energy and critical economic facilities. Iran has warned that it would broaden its retaliatory strikes if attacked again, while senior Iranian officials are concurrently discussing withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Gulf nations fear that renewed conflict could spill over into their economies, prompting UAE Presidential Advisor for Foreign Affairs Gargash to call for resolving the crisis through diplomatic channels.
