California federal court bans Kalshi from offering sports contracts on plaintiffs' tribal lands
TechFlow reported that on November 6, pursuant to a ruling by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley granted the plaintiff tribe’s application for a preliminary injunction on November 4, prohibiting Kalshi Inc. and KalshiEX from offering sports contracts on the tribe’s Indian lands.
The injunction covers contracts involving sports such as baseball, tennis, soccer, basketball, esports, motorsports, boxing, and UFC. The court requires the plaintiffs to provide Kalshi with a map delineating the tribal land boundaries by November 13, and Kalshi must report to the court within 21 days following the issuance of the order regarding the compliance measures taken.
