Trump Plans to Invite UFC President to Serve as White House Press Secretary, Both Sides Plan to Meet Monday
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White said he plans to meet with U.S. President Trump on Monday to discuss Trump's proposal that he take over as the next White House press secretary. Trump posted on social media on Saturday that he had offered the position to White, but it remains unclear whether the UFC chief will accept the invitation.
When asked about the possibility, White said at a UFC press conference: "I already have a lot of jobs to do." A person close to the UFC head revealed that Trump had also previously raised this position with White. Trump's social media post indicates that, after the Republican Party suffered sweeping defeats in the midterm elections, Trump is preparing for intense political battles over the next two years. He said he needs the UFC chief and his team to "help us fend off the crazy left." (The Wall Street Journal)
