Mercado Bitcoin stated that customer asset balances remain recorded in their respective accounts. The assets affected by the incident are currently valued at approximately $36.3 million, with $12.9 million successfully frozen as tracking and freezing operations continue. The platform advised users to remain vigilant against fraud and emphasized that it will not proactively contact users to request passwords, verification codes, or initiate transfers.
