Mastercard has been granted two cryptocurrency transaction patents that can predict money laundering risks before transfers and protect transaction privacy.
on November 6, according to Digital Asset, Mastercard has obtained two US patents, respectively covering cryptocurrency transaction preprocessing and privacy transaction processing technologies.
The first technology analyzes historical on-chain records of transacting parties to simulate risk changes following a transfer, helping users assess risks associated with money laundering and terrorist financing before executing transactions. The second technology allows transactions to occur within an authorized private participant group, where a central approval system verifies balances and determines whether to approve transfers, protecting transaction information privacy while preventing double spending.
Mastercard previously launched its Stablecoin Security stablecoin security service on October 19, but it has not yet been confirmed whether the newly patented technologies will be applied to this service.
