SpaceX COO: Will Donate Over 2 Million SpaceX Shares to Trump’s Account, Initial Funds to Be Disbursed in December
on November 1, Gwynne Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX, announced on the X platform that she and Robert will donate over 2 million SpaceX shares, scheduled for distribution in December this year to eligible children through Trump Accounts. The relevant shares are currently being transferred to a custodial account.
The initial wave of beneficiaries includes children aged 11 to 17 living in postal code areas with a median household income of no more than $57,000, as well as children residing in areas where relevant income statistics are unavailable due to low population numbers. Eligible families are expected to receive notifications by Monday.
Shotwell stated that additional donation plans will be finalized in the coming weeks, covering children of U.S. military personnel stationed overseas, foster children, and eligible children in certain counties in Texas where the median household income does not exceed $90,000.
The initiative has received support from SpaceX, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and related foundations. The specific valuation of the donated shares has not yet been disclosed.
