Balancer: Discovers Over $500,000 in Forgotten Assets Before Shutdown, Notifies Owners to Claim
on October 27, Balancer announced that while reviewing the DAO's own assets, the team also examined external users' historical asset positions. Over $500,000 in related assets have been identified thus far, and the owners have been notified.
Balancer noted that these assets primarily fall into two categories that are easily missed by asset management dashboards: first, Balancer v3's buffered liquidity shares utilize the Vault's internal accounting mechanism, meaning they may not appear on block explorers or platforms like DeBank; second, legacy v2 liquidity mining contracts may still contain claimable partner rewards, even if users had previously withdrawn their liquidity.
The official team recommends that former Balancer users check the legacy v2 liquidity mining contracts, v3 buffered shares, partner reward distribution contracts, and historical operational wallets. Balancer stated that the legacy interface remains functional for withdrawing assets from v1, v2, and v3 pools and unstaking. Users can also follow the manual exit guide to interact directly with the contracts to withdraw their assets.
