Four Major U.S. Financial Institutions Team Up to Launch $63 Billion Financing Plan to Expand Anthropic's AI Computing Capacity
on October 27, according to a Blackstone announcement, Bank of America, Blackstone, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley have jointly announced a $63 billion financing deal aimed at supporting Anthropic’s deployment of AI compute infrastructure.
The transaction will be executed through a newly established special purpose vehicle (SPV), which will purchase Broadcom’s XPU AI accelerators and networking solutions and lease them to Anthropic. The financing will be split into senior and subordinated tranches, with Bank of America, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley arranging the senior debt portion, while Blackstone will exclusively provide the committed subordinated debt financing. Broadcom will provide residual value support equivalent to the senior debt amount.
This transaction is part of a strategic compute cooperation agreement previously announced by Broadcom, with related equipment expected to begin deliveries in 2027.
