Microsoft Copilot begins using email and Teams chat history for personalization, and users can manually disable it.

According to TechFlow, on October 27, Forbes reported that Microsoft is rolling out personalized updates to Copilot for eligible Microsoft 365 enterprise and education accounts. Leveraging information such as Outlook emails, Teams chat logs, and meeting transcripts, it infers user preferences, relationships, and key work priorities to provide personalized services. Microsoft stated that the relevant data is confidential and will not be used to train its models. Users can navigate to Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat's 「Settings」—「Chat Settings」—「Personalization」 to disable the 「Chat History and Work Insights」 setting. Once disabled, the inferred memories will be deleted after 30 days; if the setting is re-enabled during this period, the related memories may be restored.
