Serenity is optimistic about certain Neocloud companies despite the headwinds, stating that financing and potential approval restrictions may raise the entry barriers
Serenity stated that new cloud service providers like NBIS (Neocloud) are attractive after a significant drop in valuation. He believes that if manufacturers maintain close relationships with suppliers like NVIDIA, have signed capacity and necessary licenses, possess well-funded partners, and can finance equipment procurement at reasonable costs, they may still perform well.
He cited IREN's financial report, noting that a prepayment in a five-year agreement could cover 90% of GPU capital expenditures, indicating that publicly listed Neocloud can adapt to a tight financing environment. The re-signing price for their old H100 GPU has reached twice the previous amount, which he believes contradicts some market concerns about equipment depreciation. Regarding approvals, Serenity referenced a Rosenblatt research report stating that the major construction projects of NBIS in Missouri, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina have low risk. He is more concerned about new entrants that are just beginning to finance or obtain permits and believes that tightening financing and potential approval restrictions may actually expand the competitive advantages of existing Neoclouds, establishing a stronger moat for them.
