BitOK: North Korean Hackers Steal Approximately $7.61 Billion in Crypto Assets in First 10 Months of This Year
on November 6, according to BeInCrypto, blockchain intelligence firm BitOK estimates that North Korean hackers stole approximately $7.61 billion in crypto assets across 38 incidents between January and October 2026, with roughly $2.86 billion frozen or seized, while approximately $4.75 billion remained unintercepted.
The report states that the attack on Binance accounted for approximately $6.41 billion, representing the vast majority of the total; there were also 32 smaller thefts targeting individuals and enterprises, totaling around $178.4 million. All six major attacks involved compromising withdrawal signers or systems, enabling withdrawals to carry valid signatures or pass through routine checks.
BitOK also noted that a shared settlement address linked five attacks between April and October, suggesting that the funds may have been processed by the same money laundering operator, although the teams responsible for executing the attacks might differ.
