Analyst: Lazarus has stolen $11.87 billion worth of crypto assets, equivalent to 45% of North Korea's GDP.

According to TechFlow, on November 1, on-chain analyst Darkfost reported that following the recent hack on Binance, the North Korean hacker group Lazarus has cumulatively stolen cryptocurrency assets worth $11.87 billion.

Darkfost noted that based on economic data published by the Bank of Korea for 2025, this sum accounts for 45% of North Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) and 35% of its gross national income (GNI).

The recent Binance hack stands as Lazarus's most valuable attack to date. However, a portion of the stolen funds was lost during subsequent money laundering operations, indicating that the total stolen figure does not reflect the actual amount successfully retained by the group.
