Zcash nears NU7 upgrade, Sprout pool still holds approximately 12,200 ZEC

on November 6, according to The Defiant, Zcash is approaching the NU7 network upgrade. A November 5 network snapshot cited in the report shows approximately 12,224 ZEC remaining in the legacy Sprout privacy pool. The upgrade will activate at block height 3,543,405, at which point funds remaining in this pool will become unspendable.

NU7 will deactivate version 4 transactions that support Sprout transfers and reduce the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The block subsidy will also be reduced to one-third of its current level to maintain the originally scheduled daily issuance rate.
