Kalshi Opens Trading for Single-Stock Perpetual Contracts on Apple, Amazon, and Others
on November 5, according to The Defiant, Kalshi has launched single-stock perpetual futures trading, with contracts for Apple, Amazon, and AMD becoming active on that day. Once approved, eligible US users can go long or short with leverage without needing to hold the underlying shares or roll over positions.
According to Kalshi market data, as of 23:05 Beijing Time, the estimated leverage for both Apple and Amazon contracts stood at approximately 4.96x, while AMD was around 3.36x; nominal trading volume for Apple contracts over the previous 24 hours reached roughly $4.61 million. Leverage levels fluctuate based on stock and position sizes.
The related regulatory approval is facing legal challenges. A US federal judge previously declined to issue an emergency injunction against the approval, but preliminarily ruled that the challengers' argument that the CFTC lacks the authority to approve single-stock perpetual contracts in the form of security futures products may prevail. This determination is not a final decision.
