World Gold Council cuts forecast for 2026 investment demand growth to 200 tonnes.

on November 4, according to the World Gold Council's Q3 Gold Demand Trends report, the council lowered its year-on-year growth forecast for 2026 gold investment demand from 400 tons to approximately 200 tons. While gold ETF demand exceeded expectations, demand for bars and coins slowed significantly in the second half of the year.

The council also upgraded its full-year central bank gold demand outlook, forecasting it will remain at least level with 2025, driven by stronger-than-expected third-quarter purchases and a slight upward revision to second-quarter data. The report showed that global central banks bought 321 tons of gold in Q3, and gold ETFs increased holdings by 211 tons.
