Ansem on Short-Term Trading Risk Control: Even If Market Movements Fail to Meet Expectations, Consider Exiting Early
on October 31, crypto trader Ansem shared insights on risk management in short-term trading, noting that traders should incorporate time into their decision-making alongside price action and stop-loss levels.
Ansem stated that he typically expects the market to make a clear move soon after entry. If Bitcoin hovers near the entry price for too long without progressing in the intended direction, he will reassess the trade thesis. Occasionally, he will exit a position prematurely, even before hitting the stop-loss, if the setup simply isn't playing out as planned.
In his view, one benefit of short-timeframe trading is that it allows traders to validate a strategy much faster. Consequently, when deciding whether to maintain a trade, one must evaluate not only price movement but also how long it takes for the anticipated outcome to unfold.
