Japanese bitcoin industry raises approximately 800 million yen via BTC in-kind contributions, partners with ANAP subsidiary to deploy Lightning Network routing
on October 28, according to CoinPost, Japan Bitcoin Industry announced a third-party directed capital increase targeting Fulgur Contract Company and ANAP Lightning Capital (ALC). The fundraising totals 804,358,000 yen, fully subscribed via in-kind contributions of Bitcoin (BTC). Delivery is expected on November 2, subject to contractual conditions, though specific subscription amounts from each party remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the company has entered into a basic cooperation agreement with ALC for Lightning Network routing services, utilizing ALC’s BTC holdings as liquidity for the channels it operates to co-develop domestic routing infrastructure in Japan. The proceeds will fund infrastructure development, talent recruitment, routing operations, and R&D, with a key focus on promoting “aurora,” a Lightning Payment service that enables integration into merchants’ existing payment systems via API.
Fulgur serves as the Japanese base for US venture capital firm Fulgur Ventures, which has focused exclusively on Bitcoin and Lightning Network investments since 2019 and previously led Blockstream’s $210 million financing round in October 2024. ALC is a subsidiary controlled by ANAP, a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market.
