Strategy: Can Issue $30 Billion in Digital Credit to Purchase Coins
on October 30, according to Cointelegraph, Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, the Bitcoin treasury company, stated during the third-quarter earnings call that the company does not require additional common equity financing or further Bitcoin appreciation to unlock up to $30 billion in digital credit using its existing balance sheet. Saylor indicated the company could create $10 billion, $20 billion, or even $30 billion in digital credit. CEO Phong Le stated that issuing digital credit will be the primary avenue to acquire more Bitcoin; if the company raises $1 billion to $2 billion through preferred shares such as STRC within a month, a portion of the proceeds would be deployed into U.S. dollar reserves, with the remainder used to buy Bitcoin. The firm's third-quarter net income stood at $19.53 billion, primarily driven by $20.91 billion in digital asset valuation gains; as of October 25, the company held 848,517 BTC, reflecting a 26% increase year-to-date. The $30 billion figure denotes potential capacity rather than an announced fundraising target.
