MEXC CEO Responds to US Regulatory Issues: Seeking Constructive Communication with FinCEN and Launching Independent Compliance Review

MEXC CEO Vugar Usi posted on the X platform in response to regulatory measures by the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), stating that the platform's deposit and withdrawal services have always operated normally. Although withdrawal volume has increased, overall order remains stable and user assets are secure.

Vugar Usi stated that following communication, blockchain compliance analytics provider Elliptic has restored MEXC Global to the regular "exchange" category in its system and removed the previous special risk flag. Meanwhile, MEXC is seeking constructive communication with FinCEN and has launched an independent review of its anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance controls.

Previously, FinCEN ordered US financial institutions to prohibit processing fund transfers involving MEXC, and accused the platform of processing at least $16 billion in funds related to sanctions evasion, cybercrime, and other illegal activities between May 2021 and May 2026, involving entities linked to Iran, North Korea, and Russia.
