Trezor increases wallet passphrase limit to 128 characters

on November 2, according to an official announcement from Trezor, the maximum length for the optional wallet passphrase has been increased from 50 characters to 128 characters. Users must update their device firmware, as older firmware versions remain limited to 50 characters.

Trezor explained that a passphrase is an optional secret addition to the wallet backup, with different passphrases corresponding to separate wallets. Citing firmware flaws in some Coldcard devices in July, the company noted that strong and unique passphrases helped some affected users protect their assets and bought time to transfer funds.
