Hyperliquid Strategies Subsidiary Applies for Registration as a Futures Commission Merchant

on November 6, according to The Block, a subsidiary of Hyperliquid Strategies has applied to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to register as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). Upon obtaining regulatory approval, the company will be able to hold permissioned HIP-3 market accounts for US clients.

Citing a company statement, the report notes that Hyperliquid plans to add optional features to HIP-3, enabling deployers to build and launch permissioned markets on its on-chain infrastructure, operated in compliance by independent operators. The company stated that there is no guarantee regarding the outcome of the application, the timeline for approval, or whether the permissioned HIP-3 markets will ultimately receive approval.
