CZ: Binance Suspected of Being Hacked, User Funds Security

on October 30, Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) posted on X stating that this incident “does indeed look like Binance was hacked,” and confirmed that user funds are secure. He thanked Tether and Circle for swiftly freezing the relevant funds, which amounted to approximately $971 million and $823 million, respectively.

CZ also noted that he is no longer managing Binance.com, but as a shareholder, he expects all user funds to be fully covered. Additionally, according to Whale Alert monitoring, an address holding approximately 823 million USDC was frozen at 05:13 Beijing Time.

TechFlow previously reported that Binance’s hot wallets experienced large-scale abnormal outflows early this morning, while two other addresses totaling approximately 1.28 billion USDT were frozen. The situation remains ongoing, please exercise caution.
