Polymarket Investigates Suspicious Trading in Israeli Elections

According to TechFlow on October 29, Bloomberg reported that prediction market platform Polymarket is investigating a series of well-timed and highly lucrative trades during Israel's election this week. This marks another recent incident sparking outside concern, underscoring the risk of insider trading within prediction markets. An analysis of Polymarket’s transaction ledger shows that shortly before polling stations closed on Tuesday, hundreds of new accounts bet that Netanyahu and his Likud party would prevail over their opponents. These trades quickly turned profitable. After partial exit polls indicated that Netanyahu's party would win more seats than initially reported, several of these accounts had already cashed out for a combined total exceeding $100,000.
