Aztec launches Tierra (Alpha V6) upgrade, fixing security vulnerabilities and doubling privacy transaction proof speed
The Aztec Foundation, behind the Ethereum privacy Layer 2 network Aztec, has launched the Tierra (Alpha V6) upgrade, aimed at fixing security vulnerabilities in previous versions, including a critical vulnerability discovered in the V5 version, and introducing an AI-based security testing system.
This upgrade also doubles the speed of privacy transaction proof generation to approximately 1 second on local devices; the time for Ethereum messages to be transmitted to the Aztec network has been reduced from an average of about 2 minutes to as fast as 12 seconds. Aztec stated that because the network uses a decentralized architecture, fixing a critical vulnerability requires a network-wide upgrade and cannot be directly implemented by a single centralized operator. The team said the network currently has over 3,000 validators and no centralized sequencer or privileged viewing keys. (The Block)
