Gate Launches PoSEC Proof of Security, Cold Storage Coverage Reaches 104.58%

According to an official announcement, Gate has launched its Proof of Security (PoSEC), extending security verification from reserve adequacy to asset storage structure and risk protection.

According to Gate's official page, as of the snapshot taken at 08:00 (UTC+8) on November 4, the platform's cold storage coverage rate stands at 104.58%, with cold storage and hot wallet assets accounting for 88.26% and 11.74% respectively. Under the corresponding statistical methodology, even if all hot wallet assets were lost, cold storage would still fully cover all user assets. The current period's data is being verified by an independent third-party audit firm, and the report will be published on the official website once completed.

Gate stated that it launched its open-source Proof of Reserves (PoR) solution in 2020, and has since continued to strengthen mechanisms including cold-hot wallet separation, multi-signature, multi-party computation (MPC), and dynamic risk monitoring.
