Bitget will launch the Open Custody Network (OCN), redefining the relationship between asset custody and trading.

TechFlow reported that on November 5, Bitget officially announced the launch of the Open Custody Network (OCN). Guided by the core philosophy of "Assets in Bank, Tradings on Bitget", the initiative aims to connect professional financial institutions such as banks and custody providers with Bitget's trading infrastructure. The network integrates key capabilities including independent asset custody, bank and institutional-grade security, exchange-integrated trading services, and capital efficiency, breaking the traditional centralized exchange model that concentrates both asset custody and trading within a single platform.

Through an asset mapping mechanism, OCN bridges the gap between independent asset custody and trading services, allowing all eligible users to participate in Bitget's spot, leveraged, and futures trading while retaining independent custody of their assets. Users can enjoy exchange-level liquidity and integrated trading services, further lowering the threshold for participation and enabling more individuals to access financial services on a more equal footing.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that OCN aims to dismantle the traditional requirement for users to deposit assets on the exchange in order to access trading services. By allowing users to independently choose their custody methods while still benefiting from premium liquidity and efficient capital utilization, the network makes financial services more open and inclusive.
