On November 3, at the 2026 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Jack Ma, co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group, delivered a keynote speech stating that the demand for AI continues to rise, and Chinese companies are continuously increasing their efforts in model open sourcing and ecological openness, with key indicators such as open source model downloads remaining at the forefront. He emphasized, "Only open source can be popularized, and only popularization can create a sustainable and inclusive era of intelligence."

According to Jack Ma, three years ago, Alibaba proposed an open source strategy. As of now, Alibaba Qianwen has open-sourced over 470 models, with a total global download exceeding 4 billion.
