Musk: Monthly deployed orbital computing power will exceed ground-based computing power by the end of 2028.
on October 31, Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire published a bottom-up financial model for SpaceX covering through the end of 2028.
User SPCX100T on X compiled the quarterly data under its median scenario into a chart, stating that SpaceX's revenue will see a clear inflection point in 2027.
According to the model, SpaceX's fiscal year 2026 revenue will be approximately $51.5 billion, around $270 billion for fiscal year 2027, and over $700 billion for fiscal year 2028, with growth driven primarily by the SI business segment.
Maguire noted that due to the rapidly changing industry landscape, these projections carry a wide margin of error.
Musk replied beneath the post that ground-based computing power is "negligible" compared to in-orbit computing power, adding that monthly deployed in-orbit computing capacity is expected to surpass ground-based capacity by late 2028 and far exceed it in 2029.
