Chainalysis Hit by Cyberattack, Some Customer Names and Email Addresses Accessed

on October 31, according to an official announcement from Chainalysis, the company detected that external attackers used malicious agent technology this month to gain unauthorized access to its systems and internal tools. The user IDs, names, email addresses, and organizational role tags of some clients were accessed.

Chainalysis stated that to date, there are no signs that investigation contents, transactions or query results, plaintext passwords, multi-factor authentication keys, or user session tokens have been accessed without authorization. The company has notified its clients and is working with third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate, patch vulnerabilities, and use large language models to assist in reviewing platform security.

The company emphasized that this incident is unrelated to the recent theft of crypto assets from Binance.
