Analyst: Lazarus Group has stolen a cumulative $11.87 billion, equivalent to 45% of North Korea's GDP

Analyst Darkfost posted that with the recent hack of Binance, the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group's cumulative stolen funds have reached $11.87 billion. According to 2025 data from the Bank of Korea, this amount is equivalent to 45% of North Korea's GDP and 35% of its Gross National Income. However, some of the funds were lost during subsequent money laundering processes.

Darkfost noted that the recent attack on Binance was the most profitable attack by the North Korean hacker group. He also stated that the relevant information was circulating on the X platform before the FBI confirmed it.
