Analyst: Bitcoin active addresses down 43% from December 2024 peak, daily average transaction volume still exceeds 810,000 BTC
on November 2, according to on-chain analyst Axel Adler Jr., the 30-day moving average of Bitcoin active addresses was 629,000 as of November 1, down 43% from the December 2024 peak of 1.1 million and currently about 10% below the annual average of 702,000. In late 2018, the same metric dropped by 50% within three months, whereas this downturn has persisted for nearly two years at a relatively slower pace.
Meanwhile, the 30-day moving average of Bitcoin's daily transaction volume stood at 819,000 BTC, down 5.4% from December 2024 and still approximately 5.5% above the annual average. The report noted that despite a notable decline in active addresses, the scale of on-chain transfers has not contracted sharply in tandem. Both indicators have recently pulled back, and there are yet no visible signs of sustained network recovery.
