Web3Auth's Keplr asset recovery address holds approximately $5.6 million

on November 9, according to The Block, Web3Auth stated it has transferred at-risk Keplr wallet assets to recovery addresses to prevent attackers from seizing them. On-chain data reviewed by The Block shows that as of the report, the 12 recovery addresses published by Web3Auth hold approximately $5.6 million in crypto assets.

Among these, the recovery addresses on Cosmos Hub hold approximately 2.49 million ATOM, valued at around $3.3 million. The report indicates that Web3Auth referred to the “original attacker,” but has not yet disclosed the number of wallets involved or the amount stolen.

TechFlow previously reported that Web3Auth published recovery addresses, stating that certain transactions to protect assets were mistaken for attacker activity. Keplr advises social login users to transfer their remaining liquid assets to accounts created with a mnemonic phrase or hardware wallet.
