Amazon Alexa Shopping Assistant Launches SMS Ordering Feature

on November 6, according to The Verge, Amazon is rolling out an SMS shopping feature for Alexa for Shopping. Users can describe the items they need or send images via text message, and the AI assistant will search Amazon products, recommend matching results, and place orders on their behalf.

The feature can be used to purchase everyday groceries, get gift recommendations, and find similar items. The assistant can also remember user preferences and send reminders when items of interest go on sale.

The feature is available starting today to a limited number of Amazon customers in the U.S., with invited users receiving a text notification. Amazon stated that it will roll out the feature to millions more customers over the coming weeks.
